Trying to figure this out

Hello all,
For the first time I noticed the following phenomena:

  1. Posting from my website to Facebook, Pinterest and Tweeter
  2. Accessing “Worldfence” Live Traffic.
  3. I see many hits by various bots with the specific links of what I just posted on social media. The hits occur almost instantly after posting.

So curious what is the process that takes place here. Do the bots hit on everything being posted by everybody and everywhere? And what exactly might be the purpose of that?
