WebpageTest Choosing LCP as image below the fold

Hi All,

My Webpagetest keeps choosing images that are below the fold as the LCP. Due to this, the LCP is now doubled on the page.

I am unable to share the tests, but wondered if anyone had seen this issue before? Weirdly i have run 4 tests, 2 of them choose the correct LCP found in a carousel, two of them choose images below the fold.

FWIW, WebPageTest doesn’t chose the LCP images, it just reports what Chrome chose.

Any chance those images were in the viewport at one point in the layout cycle and then moved? If not, I’d recommend filing a Chrome issue at crbug.com/new
