Patrick,
I’ve had extremely great results with the PSS. Now I’m wondering if I can downgrade my original server to save cost? After all Google’s servers should be the one doing most of the work.
Hard to say, it’s going to depend on your site and how it works. For most servers, the bulk of the heavy listing is in the application code and for generating the base page (database, etc). PSS will offload all of the “static” content but your server still needs to do the page generation.
If your site is largely static and you make the base HTML cacheable then PSS can offload the serving of the HTML as well and in that case it’s certainly possible to significantly reduce the back-end.
Thank you, Patrick for the reply.
