I understand the intended use case for WPT and to try to help optimize a web site under test, and from different types of connections to that site. I was wondering what folks thought about using a private instance (say on a laptop) for testing a collection of web sites but over different networks. For example how does accessing cnn.com, espn.com, apple.com, etc differ on various network which might have different bandwidth, packet loss and higher latencies like satellite connections. Examples would be on ships, planes, trains, etc. This would be more valuable if you wanted to compare performance on different vendor systems or networks. Instead of just gathering speed test rest results, or ping latency tests, it could be used to measure things which people actually use each day.
