Shpuldn’t be related to the clear cache interval (though I’ll look into the crash). That just controls how frequently the drive is defragged and the OS user profiles deleted. The cache folders are cleared regularly before each test.
That is a REALLY long timeout (also shouldn’t be the cause of the problem but something to be aware of). The timeout is per-test and in seconds so you’re effectively configuring it to allow a single test page to take 5 days.
There isn’t a problem with the date or new year that I have seen, the public instance machines have all been running clean through the transition, including the IE9 tester which is Windows 7 as well.
Try commenting out the browser=pagetest.exe line (put a semicolon at the beginning) and restarting urlblast to see if that helps. Might also check the system restore history to see if there were any updates or installs since the last reboot.
Let me see if I can reproduce the crash with the clearcache interval set to 1. If you’re feeling adventerous and back up your ulblast, pagetest.dll and pagetest.exe you can grab the absolute latest version from here: http://www.webpagetest.org/work/update/update.zip (build 255). It should be backwards compatible with your setup (it just won’t honor browser=pagetest.exe in the ini file, that was moved to a setting on the server). I don’t think I fixed anything that would have caused the crashes you are seeing but it has gone through quite a few internal changes.
now i can launch the IE with the page but the it take a long time to finish to load the page. probably was a security problem with the User1. I desinstall the last IE updates
How can I reinstall the “User1”? maybe some registry entry was corrupted
It might be easiest to do a system restore to some point late last month when things were still working. It looks like the LA test agent for the public instance had the same problem and a system restore fixed it. I haven’t been able to figure out why it is happening to only a few systems though.
;( can’t do that. more things. with the new version of pagetest and new user - manually defined -

seem that ex’plorer hung and urlblast restart, but looking to the little window fo urlblast no restart is seen[hr]
another strange thing (but i never checked it when everything ran smothly):
the registry is something like that but i read the documentation and it has to be more:
New situation: I canceld the user1 and something more happens
an IE is launched with the right url, urlblast records a new directory in the result path with the 3 files: testinfo, testinfo json and url. But no result is written and the explorer windows is closed at the timeout. it is an explorer windows with all the stuff. it is not a pagetest windows without toolbar
The explorer window is because of the updated pagetest and urlblast you installed (I moved the configuration to a server setting). You can try rolling back to the earlier code to see if pagetest.exe works for you. Unfortunately I still don’t have a very good idea for what might be going wrong. I can send you debug builds of pagetest if you want to capture a bunch of trace data.
They don’t exist in the 2.0 distribution. I’ll be packaging up a 2.1 release in the next week or two that has all of the updates from the last couple of months (it is controlled in locations.ini).
ok. thanks a lot. I saw your server room: I would like to have something like that: I have everything on one computer but you know, in Europe space costs a lot
