I think part of the problem is that you’re testing from Virginia USA and your hosting with WebWerks is in India. That round trip time is probably a decent part of that. You might try testing closer to where your user base is.
Well… I use only one test myself, just like I have only one scale in my bathroom. I don’t have several scales and use them all, accepting the number I prefer. Just one scale. Just one webtest. Here’s what he looks like from India, same issue.
That all said, I can see the OP does have a issue with the handshake and my first suggestion is to turn off cloudflare and see what happens. Not only does CF NOT help with FBT, it also can keep you from finding out what the actual problem is. And if you have your site optimized otherwise, CF really doesn’t do jack for your speed anyway.
Every time I have fixed this issue it turned out to be a issue with the hosting, and most of the time it was due to a oversold, overcrowded, shared machine. But let’s see what we get with CF turned off, for starters.
The first thing your host is going to do by the way, is blame YOU for using CF. So from this point on let’s do all testing and etc with it off.
Well, are we here to help if we can or to spit on CloudFlare in every post?
hmm dosen’t a long time to first byte indicate that optimizing the backend is in order or something?
Telling you facts about CF isn’t the same as spitting on. Don’t like the advice? Don’t take it. You WILL have slow FBT if you are using CF. Period.
I used CF for two years, it doesn’t do jack for you. I never got my sites FBT fixed until I dumped it. Works every time it is tried.
Telling you to dump cloudflare IS help.
